Meet the Business Owner: Michael Ruiter
Key West- the very name conjures a heady elixir of adventure, fun, romance, and relaxation. Michael Ruiter, the owner of Ocean Wellness Spa, felt the same way. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, he set off to explore the world after graduating from Queen’s University at Kingston Ontario. Returning to Canada after spending 13 years abroad, mostly in Asia, he returned home to complete an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in Toronto. He arrived in Key West in 2007 and immediately fell in love with the charming island and it’s eclectic people, pledging to make it his home. After five long years of searching and planning, that has become a reality with Ocean Wellness Spa. Ocean Wellness Spa & Salon is now a welcoming space to men and women that promises a pleasant and seamless experience to all, designed in such a way to ensure that all our guests have their own unique and enjoyable wellness experience.
